Key Responsibilities

As a Structural Bridge Engineer with TranSystems, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality bridge design and inspection services to our clients. Your primary responsibilities will include bridge design, contract plans preparation, and specifications requiring quality presentation, thoroughness, and follow-through. You will also be responsible for developing and analyzing design options, maintaining organized design calculation and project data, and performing load ratings analysis. Additionally, you will calculate quantities and develop cost estimates. In some cases, you may be required to participate in bridge inspection assignments as an Inspection Team Member and prepare bridge inspection reports documenting inspection findings. Office support for construction support services will also be a part of your role. You will work with contractors or other consultants to develop demolition and erection plans, temporary sheeting, cofferdam designs, and temporary supports. Furthermore, you will review shop drawing submittals, organize submittals, and address questions from contractors during the construction phases of structures.

Requirements and Qualifications

For this role, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Bridge Engineer with a Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering and 0 to 4 years of experience in structural bridge engineering assignments. You will have strong communication skills and be a team-oriented engineer who actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems. Experience with Microsoft Windows Office Suite is also essential. In addition, we prefer candidates with a Master's degree in civil/structural engineering, EIT or EI license, experience with Bentley MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, and experience in new bridge design, bridge rehabilitation, and/or inspection of bridges. Familiarity with common commercial structural software and LRFD and LRFR of Highway Bridges is also desirable.
