Lead Electrical Engineer

CS Energy is seeking a highly skilled Lead Electrical Engineer to join our Operations group. This pivotal role will be responsible for technical oversight and management of design for all solar and energy storage projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify project requirements and ensure compliance with utility interconnect agreements, contractual agreements, regulatory requirements, and code requirements.
  • Oversee engineering output through electrical design, value engineering, calculations, studies, technical specifications, and technical reports.
  • Lead internal and external engineering review meetings and support operations team on client meetings.
  • Leverage understanding of construction logistics, site preparation, material, and labor costs to optimize designs.
  • Perform quality control/quality assurance checks and track project design schedules.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the team and throughout the organization.
  • Develop and execute effective succession plans and manage tasks for direct reports.
  • Drive results by setting the pace necessary for success and ensure the team keeps that pace.
  • Undertake challenging assignments, investigate, troubleshoot, and solve electrical engineering problems.
  • Work in conjunction with Business Development, Procurement, Project Development, Presales, and Operations Team to deliver the best product to clients.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university.
  • 8+ years of experience in Photovoltaic and BESS designs, AC (LV, MV & HV) electrical design, and power system modeling.
  • 5+ years of experience in power system analysis using software such as ETAP, SKM, CDEGS, and CYMCAP.
  • 5+ years of managing the technical offering for Electrical Design on large-scale Distributed Generation and Utility Scale projects.
  • Strong understanding of all relevant codes and experience working with utilities across the USA.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects.
  • Experience drafting or reviewing engineering services contracts.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
