Job Summary

Nitsch Engineering is seeking a skilled Transportation Project Manager to oversee all aspects of transportation engineering projects for local and state government clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, transportation engineering, and client management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and oversee transportation engineering projects for local and state government clients
  • Supervise project teams and coordinate their efforts
  • Perform technical quality control reviews and prepare milestone and final submissions
  • Manage transportation studies, design of roadways, streets, intersections, and ancillary facilities
  • Oversee the preparation of construction documents, specifications, estimates, and engineering reports
  • Develop new business opportunities through networking and client events

Requirements
  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • Massachusetts Professional Engineer License or ability to obtain within one year
  • 10+ years' experience in Transportation/Highway engineering
  • Knowledge of project management roles and responsibilities and a history of successful client management
  • Experience in performing and overseeing analysis and design, preparing calculations, developing details, preparing specifications and estimates, and directing the preparation of bid documents
  • Advanced understanding of project metrics, including scope, budget, multiplier, additional service needs, and programs used to track metrics
  • Experience with construction administration services, including interpreting design intent, evaluating construction for compliance with contract documents, and directing engineering support personnel
  • Experience in preparing proposals, business development, and making public presentations
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering programs, including AutoCAD Civil 3D
