Position Overview

This role represents a highly specialized position focused on the comprehensive medical treatment of patients. The responsibilities are carried out autonomously, with clinical guidance provided by the Site Medical Director and/or Vice President of Clinical Affairs. The Physician is expected to adhere to the stipulations outlined in various contracts and grants that fund the associated programs and initiatives.

Essential Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Graduation from a medical institution accredited by the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association or the Committee on Hospitals of the Bureau of Professional Education of the American Osteopathic Association, or certification from the National Board of Medical Examiners or the National Board of Osteopathic Examiners or the New Mexico Medical Board.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:

Must possess and maintain the following credentials throughout employment:
  • Valid medical license issued by the State of New Mexico, with the capability to secure admitting privileges and active staff membership at a local hospital, if necessary.
  • DEA registration.
  • New Mexico Controlled Substance Registration (CSR).
  • Medicare PIN and UPIN numbers.
  • Medicaid identification number.
  • Must obtain BLS/CPR or ACLS certification within 30 days of employment. If assigned to a facility with ACLS medications and/or equipment, ACLS certification is required within the same timeframe. It is the employee's responsibility to maintain current certification at all times.
  • Board certification in Family Medicine is highly preferred.
SCREENING REQUIREMENTS:

This position necessitates successful completion of an initial post-offer employment screening:
  • In accordance with PMS Human Resources Policy, this role must comply with mandated testing and immunization protocols. Required testing and immunizations include TB, Hepatitis B (consent or waiver), Tdap, MMR, and Varicella, which will be provided at the employee's PMS health center. Influenza vaccinations will be mandated according to guidelines established by the CDC and NMDOH.
If assigned to specific health systems, successful completion of a criminal background check is also required.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

EMPLOYEE REFERRAL BONUS: $8000
