Position Overview
The Public Area Attendant plays a crucial role in ensuring that all public spaces within the hotel are kept clean, organized, and welcoming for our guests. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety regulations and departmental policies to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Exhibit outstanding guest relations skills during interactions with guests.
  • Maintain a positive demeanor to enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Foster a respectful and courteous atmosphere among colleagues and guests.
  • Anticipate and respond to guest needs to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat visits.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of hotel facilities and their operational hours.
  • Execute all cleaning tasks promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to promote a harmonious work environment.
  • Recognize and acknowledge returning guests.
  • Perform cleaning duties in various public areas, including sweeping, dusting, and sanitizing.
  • Maintain cleanliness in restrooms and replenish supplies as needed.
  • Properly dispose of waste and maintain cleanliness in assigned areas.
  • Utilize appropriate cleaning agents as per departmental guidelines.
  • Report any maintenance issues or damages to the appropriate department.
  • Polish and maintain the appearance of lobby fixtures and furnishings.
  • Handle lost and found items according to hotel policies.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of both public and back-of-house areas.
  • Follow all HOSTAR policies and procedures diligently.
  • Assist with the removal of Room Service trays from hallways.
  • Support Room Attendants with cleaning tasks as needed.
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment after receiving proper training.
  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness across various surfaces.
  • Manage inventory and organization of supplies in the housekeeping storeroom.
  • Perform additional cleaning tasks as required, including deep cleaning of VIP rooms.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions.
  • Engage in special projects and other assigned duties.

Qualifications

  • Basic proficiency in English.
  • Able to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 25 pounds and standing for extended periods.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
