Job Summary

The University of Tennessee, Knoxville is seeking a highly qualified Director of Equal Employment Opportunity to lead our efforts in promoting a culture of inclusivity and diversity. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to attract, retain, and develop a diverse workforce.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive Equal Employment Opportunity program that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Collaborate with senior administrators, deans, and directors to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and guidelines related to equal employment opportunity.
  • Provide training and education to faculty, staff, and students on equal employment opportunity and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Develop and implement strategies to recruit and retain a diverse workforce, including faculty and exempt staff.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to equal employment opportunity.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in equal employment opportunity or related fields, with progressively more responsibility and oversight.
  • Experience managing, directing, and evaluating the work of others.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Terminal degree (Ph.D. or JD).
  • Experience in higher education, preferably as faculty or faculty adjacent.
  • Experience related to recruiting, hiring, evaluating, and retention efforts.
