POSITION OVERVIEW

The Safety and Security Specialist operates under minimal oversight, ensuring the safeguarding of work locations, personnel, and assets at designated sites. This role involves the enforcement of safety protocols, conducting routine inspections of assigned areas, and addressing incidents in accordance with established operational guidelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by implementing safety and security protocols, site-specific policies, and emergency response actions when necessary.
  • Comprehend and effectively execute assigned duties, including the enforcement of client and company regulations.
  • Protect property from damage, theft, fire, and unauthorized access.
  • Conduct systematic and random inspections of premises, checking doors, windows, and gates to confirm they are secure.
  • Perform searches of individuals, vehicles, and designated areas as required.
  • Engage with the public and clients in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Manage visitor access and issue identification badges.
  • Oversee traffic and parking regulations.
  • May operate and monitor surveillance equipment.
  • Respond to emergencies and assist in rescue operations as needed.
  • Handle incidents and critical situations with a calm and solution-oriented approach.
  • Communicate effectively over radio channels while initiating and responding to communications.
  • Investigate disturbances, thefts, and incidents, reporting findings to management.
  • Document daily activities and incidents accurately.
  • Assist management and law enforcement during emergencies and apprehend unauthorized individuals when necessary.
  • Maintain high standards of appearance and work environment.
  • Adhere to established dress code and uniform requirements.
  • Report all incidents and injuries promptly.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness while ensuring safety.
  • Uphold confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Fulfill all duties in line with established safety and operational protocols.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Be available to work varying schedules, including nights and weekends as required.
  • Engage in company-required training programs.
  • May take on responsibilities of a Lead Security Officer or Sergeant as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience in military, law enforcement, or security is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work is essential.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain an Unarmed Security Officer License in the relevant state.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check, drug screening, and a physical evaluation as a condition of employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle for transportation.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The role requires working in confined spaces such as security posts or patrol vehicles for extended periods, often involving twelve-hour shifts. The majority of the work occurs in a dynamic environment with diverse personnel.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Routine physical activities include walking, standing, bending, and lifting items up to 25 lbs. Candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment physical assessment.
