Position Overview

The Healthcare Security Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, medical personnel, and staff. This position involves monitoring premises to identify potential safety hazards and deter criminal activity, while also safeguarding organizational assets from theft and vandalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols of designated areas to monitor for unauthorized individuals or potential security threats, maintaining constant communication with supervisors and fellow officers.
  • Uphold order within the facility, intervening in disturbances with professionalism and adherence to established protocols.
  • Respond to a variety of service calls, including incidents of criminal activity, civil matters, and requests for assistance, such as escorting individuals to their vehicles or addressing parking issues.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement as necessary to maintain safety and assist in apprehensions when required.
  • Provide immediate assistance during medical emergencies, acting within the scope of training and expertise.
  • Ensure the security of facilities by managing access points and verifying authorization for entry.
  • Prepare detailed reports on incidents, including thefts, safety concerns, and other relevant occurrences, in accordance with legal and organizational standards.
  • Handle sensitive information and investigations with discretion, maintaining confidentiality as mandated.
  • Manage traffic flow at key locations and enforce parking regulations as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Less than one year in a security-related role.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire; Commissioned Security Officer certification within six months of hire; valid driver's license as required.
