Job Summary:
The Production Planner will be responsible for planning and coordinating the production process within our facility. This includes creating and tracking production plans, communicating with supply chain partners, and ensuring that production meets customer requirements and manufacturing needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and prioritize production operations to ensure maximum efficiency and minimum delays
- Determine manpower and equipment needs to support production plans
- Communicate with supply chain partners to ensure timely delivery of materials
- Monitor production progress and ensure that jobs are completed on schedule
- Maintain ongoing communication with all stakeholders, including sales, customer service, quality, and manufacturing teams
- Address issues as they arise to minimize impact and support on-time delivery (OTD)
- Maintain accurate documentation and reports on production orders and status
- Provide regular updates to customer service on order status and any concerns or schedule delays
- Coordinate with sales, customer service, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure customer needs are met and delivery dates are met OTD
- Participate in pre-release meetings for new product service orders as needed
- Support implementation of manufacturing and procurement processes
- Plan materials to support production requirements
- Monitor inventory levels to drive quick turn improvements and eliminate obsolete and excessive inventory
- Follow up on late shipments and work with supplier quality resources as necessary
- Provide reliable forecasts and updates to suppliers and internal management
- Develop production schedules in a lean manufacturing environment (labor and machining requirements)
- Communicate effectively with all departments and levels of management
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have:
- At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- 1-3 years of customer service experience
- 1-3 years of manufacturing planning experience
- Excellent documentation skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office software
- US Person due to ITAR regulations
- Desirable experience with AS and ISO requirements
- Self-motivated team player with a hands-on approach
Work Environment:
The Production Planner will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with moderate to loud noise levels. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with all departments and levels of management.
