Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Systems Engineer to join our team at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining procedures for system operation during normal, abnormal, and emergency conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain procedures for system operation during normal, abnormal, and emergency conditions.
  • Surveillance procedures.
  • Methods used to perform predictive and preventive maintenance.
  • Failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) documents.
  • Maintain Maximo asset/component lists, equipment labeling, and key drawings.
  • Support 325RPL Management Core Team maintain a culture of technical excellence and leadership.
  • Performance of Periodic System and Program Assessment.
Requirements
  • BS/BA and 7+ years of relevant work experience -OR-
  • MS/MA and 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Professional expertise and expert knowledge, complemented by 10 years of engineering experience, including a minimum 4 years of experience in: DOE nuclear, commercial nuclear, or US Navy nuclear operations.
  • Knowledge of facilities engineering design and construction practices, as well as building codes and standards.
  • Qualified as System Engineer as well as an Unreviewed Safety Question (USQ) Evaluator.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Working Conditions

This position requires incumbent to be Rad Worker II qualified, as the position will require entry into radiological areas.

Additional Information

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance.
