Job Summary

The Pacific Northwest National Laboratory is seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Facilities Operations Manager to lead a team focused on operating and maintaining the Radiochemical Processing Laboratory (RPL) in a safe, compliant, and environmentally sound manner. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability of facility systems and resources necessary to support the research mission, while adhering to regulatory requirements and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and implement operations and maintenance activities to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the RPL facility.
  • Lead a team of engineers and specialists to maintain the facility in a mission-ready state.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and quality standards.
  • Develop and implement procedures to ensure the effective management of risks and hazards.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve operational goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 10 years of experience, or Master's degree and 8 years of experience.
  • Proven experience in nuclear facility operations, including knowledge of 10 CFR 830 Sub Parts A and B.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders and regulators.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance.

Working Conditions

  • Must be willing and able to work in radiologically controlled or high-hazard areas.
  • Position will be required to qualify under DOE O 426.2A nuclear training program requirements.
