Work Schedule: Standard working hours are from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with variations based on location.

Role Summary:

The Revenue Cycle Specialist plays a crucial role in the efficient management of financial transactions related to patient accounts. This position is responsible for the accurate and timely entry of charges, payments, adjustments, and denials into the billing system. Key responsibilities include:

  • Accurate posting of financial transactions, including charges, payments, adjustments, denials, and refunds.
  • Reconciliation of posted transactions to ensure alignment with batch totals.
  • Identification and resolution of credit balance accounts.
  • Communication with payors to address issues related to payment transactions.
  • Ensuring proper transaction codes and payer information are utilized for accurate postings.
  • Timely resolution of unidentified receipts to facilitate accurate posting.
  • Research and preparation of refunds in accordance with established policies.
  • Reporting any payer or patient issues that may affect accounts receivable.
  • Providing recommendations for process improvements in cash posting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of experience in medical cash application, billing, or collections.
  • Familiarity with posting insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid payments, adjustments, and refunds.
  • Strong multitasking, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Durable Medical Equipment.
  • Proficiency with Brightree billing software or similar systems.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
