Job Overview

Position: Tribal Support Advocate

Location: Fairbanks, Alaska

Position Summary: The Healy Lake Village Council is in the process of establishing a dedicated advocacy division aimed at assisting individuals affected by sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking, dating violence, and human trafficking. The advocates will provide essential services including crisis intervention, safety planning, and comprehensive needs assessments for clients. They will also facilitate information dissemination and referrals to the individuals they assist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage directly with clients to deliver support and guidance.
  • Adhere to all protocols of the advocacy program and the Healy Lake Council.
  • Foster relationships and collaborate with community partners.
  • Maintain accurate reports, documentation, and case files.
  • Organize and execute educational community events.
  • Assist survivors in navigating Tribal, State, and Federal Court systems.
  • Provide off-site services and transportation for clients to necessary appointments and court appearances.
  • Participate in training sessions and conferences to enhance knowledge in victim services.

  • Ability to successfully complete a drug test and background screening.
