Job Description

Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Residence Life Coordinator to join our team at Dillard University. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting a supportive community environment in the residence area, enhancing academic achievement and student growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and develop student Resident Assistants and Community Assistants
  • Provide crisis response to individual students
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the Division of Student Success, academic affairs, and facilities
  • Develop and implement student development programming in the residence hall
  • Assist with the planning and coordinating of pre-semester and in-service training sessions for resident assistants

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
  • Supervisory experience and extensive experience in residential living
  • Knowledge of student development, strong communication skills, and a demonstrated capacity to work with a diverse student population

Work Environment: The Residence Life Coordinator will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with students, faculty, and staff. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a team environment and maintain confidentiality in all work performed.

Special Requirements: The Residence Life Coordinator must be available for a live-on position, maintain confidentiality, and be flexible in work schedule. Must be willing to work evening or weekends for special events, crisis response, and/or opening and closing of hall.
