Transplant Coordinator Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Transplant Coordinator to join our team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. As a key member of the transplant team, you will play a critical role in the evaluation, placement, and management of patients awaiting transplantation.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess patients for placement on the transplant waiting list and coordinate evaluations with the patient/family and transplant team.
- Facilitate the evaluation of pre- and post-transplant patients by interfacing with referring physicians, transplant specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Communicate with the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) to maintain an accurate and current patient waiting list.
- Participate in clinical rounds, meetings, and educational programs to increase knowledge and improve patient care.
- Provide education to patients and families about diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition, and maintenance of health and wellness.
- Bachelor's degree in health sciences, nursing, or dietetics required.
- 3-4 years of professional clinical experience as a registered dietitian, registered nurse, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant preferred.
- Candidates with at least 1 year of previous transplant-related experience preferred.
- RD - Registered Dietician required or Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in the District of Columbia required.
