Job Title: Financial Controller

At PILOT, we are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing the general accounting function and overseeing the completion of ledger accounts and financial statements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee, lead, and set priorities for the Accounts Receivable team
  • Select, coach, train, and develop direct reports to include appraising job performance and conducting performance reviews
  • Evaluate and make appropriate improvements to internal accounting processes ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the company
  • Develop and implement accounting practices and procedures
  • Oversee preparation of budgets and forecasts
  • Coordinate accounting services and integrate with operating needs
Requirements:
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent certificate required
  • Bachelors degree in finance or accounting preferred
  • Minimum seven years experience in accounting or related area required
  • Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) or related field preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Familiarity with Lawson or similar software
  • Intermediate knowledge of Monarch, Ascence software, and ReconNet or similar reconciling software required
  • Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), and tax laws
  • Familiarity with Structured Query Language (SQL) programming language for data management
  • Experience working with large volumes of data from disparate sources and ability to turn results into meaningful and actionable intelligence
