Controller Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Controller to join our dynamic team at Jobot. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all financial activities within our Architecture & Design firm.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain accurate financial reports and statements in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with project managers and senior leadership to develop and manage budgets for various projects and operational activities.
  • Prepare detailed financial forecasts and projections to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Implement and manage accounting processes specific to project-based work, including job costing, revenue recognition, and expense tracking.
  • Monitor and analyze project budgets, ensuring financial performance aligns with project goals and deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Manage internal controls and audit processes to mitigate financial risks and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Supervise and mentor the finance team, providing guidance and support in daily financial operations.
  • Facilitate professional development and continuous improvement within the finance department.
  • Communicate financial performance, strategies, and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, with a strong background in the Architecture & Design or Facility Relocation Services industry required.
  • Proficiency in Team Design Software required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Strong leadership abilities and experience managing a finance team.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
