Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Sales Support Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring exceptional customer service while also providing essential support to the sales team. This position is designed to facilitate the acquisition of new clients and the retention of existing ones, leveraging a comprehensive understanding of APPC's offerings and staying informed about market trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage incoming calls and perform various office tasks while delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Process customer orders received through multiple channels, including phone, email, and fax, ensuring accurate documentation for shipping.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, educating them about new products and services to enhance sales within established accounts.
  • Collaborate with team members, participating in training sessions and team meetings to promote a cohesive work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with personnel across different departments to streamline operations and address customer inquiries.
  • Coordinate logistics with customers, suppliers, and carriers to facilitate timely pickups and deliveries.
  • Generate and analyze reports using various software tools to identify areas for improvement and efficiency.
  • Proactively identify potential leads and relay them to the sales team for follow-up.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the overall objectives of the sales department.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.

Experience: A minimum of two years in a similar role is required.

Skills:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
  • Capability to operate standard office equipment efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Professional demeanor and strong work ethic when interacting with clients and colleagues.

Physical Requirements:

Occasional physical activities may include climbing, bending, and lifting up to 10 pounds. The work environment is typically quiet to moderate in noise level.
