Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Benefits Specialist to join our team at Holy Childhood. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering benefits programs, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and providing exceptional customer service to our employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in benefits administration, including claims resolution, invoice approval, and benefits reporting.
  • Administer health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
  • Process required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
  • Ensure compliance with COBRA guidelines and assist in resolving conflicts.
  • Coordinate health, life, and disability insurance enrollments and communicate with service providers.
  • Administer disability, workers' compensation, and family leave plans, including FMLA and NYPFL.
  • Perform benefit orientations for new employees and participate in developing department goals and objectives.
  • Maintain records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations and participate in administrative staff meetings.
  • Assist in evaluating reports, decisions, and results of the department in relation to established goals.
  • Recommend innovative approaches, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
  • Provide customer service by answering employee requests and questions and conducting audits of benefits or other HR programs.
  • Assist with organizational training and development efforts and maintain human resource information system records.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with an Associate's degree in business administration or a related field and three to five years of relevant experience in benefits administration. The ideal candidate will have software knowledge and report writing skills, as well as experience with benefits, open enrollment, invoice reconciliation, leave administration, COBRA, retirement plans, audits, compliance, FSA, and HSA.
