Position Overview

The Engineering Operations Manager is tasked with overseeing the management and execution of all building utility systems, infrastructure, and maintenance of non-medical equipment. This role involves the daily implementation and management of the Utility Systems Management Plan, Fire Safety Management Plan, and the computerized maintenance management system, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer the computerized maintenance management system to ensure timely action on requests and completion of corrective measures.
  • Ensure adherence to preventative maintenance schedules and develop maintenance programs for new equipment based on manufacturer guidelines or alternative maintenance strategies.
  • Engage in both operational and capital budgeting processes, managing assigned budgets effectively.
  • Collaborate with organizational leaders to support daily operations, projects, and events.

Minimum Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with a master-level license or certification in a building trade, OR
  • Associate degree in engineering, applied science, facilities management, or a related field.

Minimum Work Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in facility management, operations, maintenance, or environmental management, with a preference for experience in a healthcare environment.
  • 5 years of management or supervisory experience.

Required Licenses/Certifications

  • Certification in Healthcare Facilities Management (CHFM) is preferred.
  • Master-level licensure or certification in a building trade is desirable.
  • Valid driver's license.

Essential Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of hospital equipment and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Understanding of maintenance and repair management systems.
  • Familiarity with building operation design and construction standards.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Experience with computer applications related to work order systems and scheduling software.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and human resource management capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a customer-focused approach.

Salary Range: $73,500 - $117,500
