Job Title: Manager of Engineering & Maintenance

Rutland Regional Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager of Engineering & Maintenance to oversee the management and execution of all building utility systems, building infrastructure, interiors, and non-medical equipment repairs and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the implementation and management of the Utility Systems Management Plan, Fire Safety Management Plan, Statement of Conditions, and the computerized maintenance management system in compliance with Joint Commission Environment of Care and Life Safety standards.
  • Administer the computerized maintenance management system to ensure requests are acted upon and corrective actions are completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with completion of all preventative maintenance and develop preventive maintenance programs for new equipment based on manufacturer's recommendations or an Alternative Equipment Maintenance (AEM) program.
  • Participate in operational and capital budgeting processes and manage assigned budgets.
  • Collaborate with leaders across the organization to assist in day-to-day activities, projects, and events.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent and a master-level license or certification in a building trade, or an Associate degree in engineering, applied science, facilities management, or a related field.
  • 5 years of associated engineering experience, preferably in a healthcare setting, and 5 years of management/supervisory/administrative experience.
  • Certification in Healthcare Facilities Management (CHFM) is preferred, and licensure at a Master level or certification in a building trade is desirable.
  • Valid Vermont Driver's license.
Preferred Skills:
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge of hospital equipment and building primary and secondary mechanical, electrical, and plumbing distribution equipment.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of maintenance and repair management systems.
  • Solid project management experience required.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with computer applications associated with work order systems, microprocessor control systems, and computer-based ordering, scheduling, and spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, communicate and listen effectively with frequent interruptions while maintaining customer focus at all times.

Salary Range: $73,500 - $117,500
