Job Summary

Nuvance Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Patient Care Services to lead our Maternal Child department. As a key member of our nursing leadership team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring patient care delivery systems and related nursing practice standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement nursing practice standards for all units, ensuring high-quality patient care and optimal resource utilization.
  2. Supervise personnel and facilitate effective communication to ensure safe and quality care.
  3. Provide mentoring, coaching, and feedback to foster a positive work environment and achieve high employee engagement.
  4. Lead and manage departmental finances, ensuring effective fiscal management and data-driven decision-making.
  5. Collaborate with Quality Department Leadership to ensure regulatory compliance and develop quality and safety initiatives.
  6. Develop and maintain an environment that supports service excellence and promotes positive interactions with staff, patients, and families.
  7. Communicate effectively with internal and external constituencies to ensure effective operations and positive employee relations.
  8. Partner with Human Resources to maintain a standardized approach to employee engagement and labor relations.
  9. Develop and maintain current knowledge in the profession/position, translating evidence-based data into practice.
Requirements

Education: BSN or Advanced degree in nursing required. Master's Degree in Nursing or related fields required.

Experience: At least five years of experience in Nursing Leadership with comparable scope. Maternal/Child Nursing Management experience required.

Nursing Executive Certification preferred. Membership in a Healthcare/Nursing professional organization preferred.

CT State RN License (Danbury Hospital, Norwalk Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Sharon Hospital)

Working Conditions

This role requires a sedentary/light effort, with occasional manual skills and motor coordination. The working conditions are generally pleasant, with little to no potential for occupational risk.
