Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Patient Care Services to join our team at Danbury Hospital. As a key member of our nursing leadership team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the patient care delivery system and related nursing practice standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate nursing practice standards for all units.
  • Assume 24/7 accountability for the supervision of personnel and facilitate optimal patient care through the appropriate use of resources.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, feedback, and foster teamwork in a positive work environment to achieve quality services with a high level of employee engagement.
  • Lead and be accountable for reaching organizational goals, providing recommendations to the VP/CNO for strategic growth targets.
  • Assume responsibility for effective fiscal management of the department, ensuring proper utilization of financial resources.
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary and interdepartmental communication for effective operation of clinical services.
  • Collaborate with Quality Department Leadership to ensure regulatory compliance with standards through policies and practices.
  • Develop and maintain an environment that supports service excellence, serving as a role model for staff, patient, and family interactions.
  • Foster an environment that encourages open communication, assuming responsibility for communication to ensure that information is shared for effective operations and to promote positive employee relations.
  • Partner with Human Resources to provide guidance for the nursing management team in maintaining a standardized approach to employee engagement and labor relations.
  • Assume responsibility for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge in the profession/position.
  • Collaborate with the Department of Professional Development to identify and develop educational programs to maintain the skill set of staff and foster professional growth.
Requirements

We are seeking a candidate with a BSN or Advanced degree in nursing, with at least five years of experience in Nursing Leadership with comparable scope. Maternal/Child Nursing Management experience is required. Nursing Executive Certification is preferred, as is membership in a Healthcare/Nursing professional organization.

CT State RN License is required for Danbury Hospital, Norwalk Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Sharon Hospital.
