Job Summary

The Conner Strong & Buckelew Companies, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Business Development Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Production Support Group, you will play a lead role in the marketing of new business opportunities and the creation of business development presentations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of an Insured's or Prospect's business operations, inherent exposures, and the insurance coverage necessary to best protect the assets of the corporation and the owners of the business.
  • Review and analyze insurance policies to identify coverage deficiencies in relation to the exposures present in a Prospect's business.
  • Manage the creation of customized Conner Strong & Buckelew Consultative Reviews.
  • Prepare customized Coverage Summaries for new prospective customers.
  • Analyze loss information for marketing purposes and program design.
  • Provide assistance and input into developing the appropriate program design for our clients.
  • Negotiate Premium, Terms, and Conditions with Insurance Carriers.
  • Finalize New Business Proposals.
  • Bind coverage on behalf of new customers.
  • Prepare documents required to transition accounts to service team.
  • Review and analyze insurance indemnification sections of business contracts.
  • Assist the Business Development personnel in gathering and compiling the necessary information required for a comprehensive review/underwriting submission.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 10+ years' minimum of Commercial Property & Casualty Brokerage experience.
  • Self-starter, flexible, and able to multi-task with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
  • Knowledge of Document Management System (WorkSmart) preferred.
  • Ability to work in a team environment but function independently.
  • Ability to develop and manage key relationships at all levels within Conner Strong organization along with outside Clients and Carriers.
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without Company sponsorship.

Specialized Knowledge or Licenses:

Property & Casualty Producer License

ARM, CIC, CPCU, and other specialized designations as appropriate.

Working Conditions:

Able to work flexible hours and travel to other Conner Strong & Buckelew buildings and client work sites on a regular basis.
