Procurement Specialist-Manufacturing

Holtec International is seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to lead our Material Procurement Group. This role requires a strong communicator with exceptional negotiating skills and the ability to drive business growth while maintaining the company's bottom line.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring compliance with Procurement Policy and Procedures.
- Managing workload and collaborating with other Procurement Specialists or Production Project Leads to achieve customer project goals.
- Identifying supplier contract changes, analyzing root cause issues, and developing transition plans with the Procurement Manager.
- Assisting in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Procurement Strategy, Policy, and Procedures.
- Fostering competition among suppliers, leveraging agreements across the enterprise, managing risk, and promoting cost savings and reduction.
- Maintaining relationships with qualified, consistent, and reputable supplier sources, while locating, researching, and expanding the supplier base.
- Receiving and analyzing requests for materials, goods, and services.
- Negotiating pricing and business terms, and coordinating purchase efforts with the Legal Department to minimize risk.
- Preparing and submitting purchase orders.
- Planning, tracking, and managing orders to meet daily delivery requirements and aged inventory.
- Completing purchasing requests and transactions.
Qualified candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor's Degree.
- 10+ years of Procurement experience negotiating supply agreements.
- Steel or Metal buying experience is necessary.
- Strong vendor interface and negotiation skills.
- Ability to review technical specifications and drawings.
- Demonstrated knowledge of purchasing practices, supply chain management, and contract law as it applies to the procurement process.
- Strong ability to support cross-functional teams and excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Proven presentation skills.
- Experience creating and managing large RFPs.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to identify milestones and meet deadlines.
- Experience with the steel market and procuring steel directly from steel mills is a plus.
