About the Role

The Executive Leadership Council is seeking a seasoned professional to fill the position of Director of Internal Audit and Risk Management. This key role will be responsible for leading the organization's internal audit and risk management functions, ensuring the effective implementation of internal controls and risk mitigation strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Internal Audit
    • Develop and implement a risk-based internal audit plan to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and identify areas for improvement.
    • Conduct audits of various departments and activities to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
    • Identify and assess risks, and develop recommendations for mitigation strategies.
  • Risk Management
    • Develop and implement an enterprise risk management (ERM) program to identify, assess, and mitigate risks.
    • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
    • Monitor and report on risk trends and issues.
  • Compliance and Governance
    • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
    • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure effective governance and risk management.
  • Communication and Reporting
    • Prepare and present audit reports and risk assessments to senior management and the audit committee.
    • Communicate audit findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • Master's degree in Finance or a related field preferred.
  • Experience
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in internal audit, risk management, or a related field.
    • Progressive experience in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.
  • Certifications
    • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
    • Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) preferred.
  • Skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and financial management software.
