Job Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our team at Bakersfield Prosthetics and Orthotics Center. This role is ideal for an individual with excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and experience working in a fast-paced medical environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist patients in a courteous and professional manner
  • Schedule appointments and maintain patient records on EMR system
  • Handle phone calls, emails, voicemails and inquiries efficiently
  • Front office payment collections and reviewing patient financial responsibilities
  • Utilize knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations
  • Assist with care plans, file management, and data entry
  • Collaborate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years Medical office experience
  • Proficiency in Spanish is required
  • Insurance coverage knowledge (Eligibility, benefits, deductibles)
  • Medical Record referral requirements
  • Prior authorization processes
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Typing and 10 key proficiency
  • Front desk experience
  • Medical records management
  • Administrative experience
  • Familiarity with EMR systems
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
  • Basic understanding of CPT coding
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to handle multi-line phone systems

The estimated salary for this role is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
