Job Summary

The Senior Director of Business Development will design and execute plans to acquire and expand mutually beneficial strategic corporate partnerships in alignment with the Clemson Elevate strategic plan. This position will establish and deploy achievable partnership frameworks focused on talent development, research, and campus and community impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create growth frameworks for each assigned Strategic Corporate Partner (SCP) and lead development and collaboration with university and industry stakeholders to advance proposals, contracts, etc., foundational to establishing partnership engagements.
  • Build trusted, high-level relationships with new partners and assigned, existing SCPs, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to create alignment that provides high mutual value.
  • Visit companies and executives, and research business and academic trends to create a business development pipeline across multiple industry sectors compatible with Clemson Elevate, and effectively communicate lead to close achievement of pipeline on a regular basis.
  • Track and report business development activities, partnership growth, and other OCP metrics to inform strategic decisions, and regularly update and report on progress and achievement of SCP framework goals as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, marketing, or a technical or related field.
  • 7+ years of work experience.
Preferred Requirements
  • Master's Degree.
Working Conditions
  • Standard Hours: 37.5.
  • 15% - Overnight Travel.
Compensation Information

Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills, and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
