Job Description

Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Automotive Financial Controller to oversee our financial operations at Hardin Automotive Group. This role is essential for ensuring the financial health and compliance of our dealership.

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and evaluate account analysis along with the preparation of financial statements.
- Interpret accounting results and provide strategic advice to management.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Safeguard dealership assets and optimize operational efficiency.
- Manage cash controls and oversee the protection of operational assets.
- Review and assess operational financial reports, offering insights and guidance to accounting and general managers as necessary.
- Schedule and ensure the timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings within the accounting department.
- Collaborate with banking partners to secure credit lines and address capital requirements.
- Assist in the accurate review and submission of all relevant tax filings, including income, employment, and sales taxes.
- Maintain strong relationships with accountants to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and to optimize the dealership's financial structure for tax efficiency.
- Oversee the hiring, training, and management of dealership office staff.
- Develop and implement streamlined processes to facilitate reviews, audits, and corporate requests.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead the implementation of new policies and procedures as needed.
- Manage special projects related to accounting operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, and modeling) and PowerPoint (for presenting financial data effectively).
- A minimum of five years of experience in finance or accounting, with a strong understanding of QuickBooks.
- 5 to 7 years of relevant accounting/finance experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role.
