Job Summary

The Membership and Engagement Specialist plays a pivotal role in overseeing NSBE's membership functions and supporting event registration processes. This role coordinates membership initiatives, conducts marketing campaigns, and manages member data integrity. Additionally, they provide customer service support and assist in event registration for various NSBE conferences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and supports membership initiatives, including marketing campaigns to recruit new NSBE members and renew former members via digital channels.
  • Assist in creating membership promotional materials, NSBE paraphernalia, and promotional giveaways.
  • Conduct survey and focus group research to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns, programs, benefits, and services.
  • Membership reporting, metrics, and data analytics.
  • Implementation of the membership tactics outlined in the NSBE Game Change 2025 strategic plan.
  • Manage the annual membership operations plan.
  • Administer membership data in Fonteva and related processes that include designating NSBE advisors, chapter, regional, and national leaders' roles in the database.
  • Registration (40%) - this role is responsible for the coordination and support of the event registration lifecycle for the Annual NSBE Convention, Fall Regional Conferences (FRC), National Leadership Conference (NLC), and Professional Development Conference (PDC).
  • Spearhead the registration function on-site.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service is provided to all registrants and that all membership-registration technical operations are executed seamlessly.
  • Supports pre-program, sub-events, social events, and onsite registration processes.
  • Provides customer service support (NSBE staff and vendor staff).
  • Assists in training and onboarding registration staff, volunteers, and vendors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills are required.
  • Ability to bring fresh perspective, creative ideas, and take initiative to support project goals.
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Salesforce (Fonteva) a plus.
