Diagnostic Technician I-Bacteriology

The Kansas State University Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Technician to assist with diagnostic specimens and utilize selective media preparations to enhance the isolation and identification of pathogenic bacteria and conduct antibacterial sensitivity testing.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist laboratory supervisor and other faculty in ongoing research projects by isolating and selecting pure colonies of bacteria for identification and pathogenicity studies and refer to reference laboratories where appropriate.
• Analyze information and translate it into a report for clients.
Requirements:
• High school diploma and two years of relevant experience (Level I) or associate degree and two years of relevant experience (Level II).
• Experience in veterinary diagnostic setting, ability to establish and maintain records, and ability to work weekends and additional hours as necessary.
