Clinical Histology Technician I

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Histology Technician I to join our team at NYU Langone Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing tissue specimens for pathological examination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine histologic procedures, including accessioning, grossing, wrapping, embedding, section techniques, and special staining.
  • Prepare tissue specimens for pathological examination, including covering slipping and slide documentation.
  • Train in the use of new laboratory equipment and help maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Prepare solutions required for histological examinations.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree from an approved clinical laboratory technician program or equivalent experience.
  • Certification by the NYS Education Department as a Clinical Laboratory Technician or Certified Histological Technician.
  • At least six months of experience in a histology laboratory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in Science.
  • American Society of Clinical Pathologists certification as a Histology Technician (ASCP HT).
