Project Engineer - Civil/Utilities

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team in San Francisco, California. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for integrating engineering, scheduling, and procurement activities to support various utility and roadway projects in the Bay Area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team to coordinate complex utility relocation and design tasks.
  • Develop the scope of engineering work, schedules, and budgets for assigned project elements.
  • Coordinate and oversee the utilization of interdisciplinary technical personnel on the project.
  • Assist the Project Manager in planning, directing, and controlling the execution of technical and administrative functions of the project.
  • Oversee the development of design documents for design bid build and alternative project delivery/design-build projects.
  • Ensure client criteria and scope are met by all engineering disciplines.
  • Participate in technical coordination meetings with stakeholders and the client.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation of activity for the client and project management.

Requirements:

  • 10 years or more of experience in civil engineering design, specifically experience coordinating and designing utility infrastructure.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • California Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.
  • Experience working with City of San Francisco agencies, including Public Works, SFPUC, and SFMTA, and other public and private utility agencies.
  • Understanding of and familiarity with City of San Francisco agency criteria, standards, specifications, and requirements.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to interface with the client.
