Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team at VRK IT Vision Inc. As a key member of our cloud infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable and secure cloud infrastructure using AWS services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Infrastructure Design: Lead the design and development of cloud infrastructure using AWS CDK and TypeScript.
  • AWS Services Management: Manage, configure, and optimize AWS services including EC2, EKS, ECR, Cognito, Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM, and CloudFront.
  • Service Mesh Expertise: Architect, build, and maintain Istio service mesh within Amazon EKS clusters for secure service interactions.
  • CI/CD Implementation: Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub, and GitHub Actions to automate deployments.
  • Testing & Monitoring: Develop and maintain unit and integration tests for infrastructure as code (IaC). Set up monitoring systems and alerts using FluentBit, CloudWatch, and Dynatrace.
  • Helm Chart Management: Use Helm charts to package resources and streamline deployments on EKS.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement AWS security best practices and ensure the environment adheres to AWS Well-Architected Frameworks and other compliance requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with software engineers to optimize application performance and ensure smooth cloud operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • AWS CDK Expertise: Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in AWS CDK development using TypeScript.
  • EKS Development: At least 8 years of experience in developing and managing AWS services, particularly Amazon EKS.
  • Service Mesh: 4 years of experience designing, building, and maintaining Istio service mesh within an EKS environment.
  • AWS Services Development: 8 years of experience managing AWS services such as EC2, EKS, ECR, S3, Cognito, and NLB.
  • Containers: 6 years of experience working with Docker containers and microservices frameworks.
  • Helm Charts: 6 years of experience working with Helm charts for managing Kubernetes applications.
  • Scripting Languages: Proficiency in TypeScript with at least 6 years of experience in scripting for infrastructure automation.
  • CI/CD Tools Mastery: 8 years of experience building pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub, GitHub Actions, etc.
  • AWS Well-Architected Frameworks: Solid understanding of AWS Well-Architected Frameworks with 4 years of experience implementing best practices.
  • Networking Concepts: 8 years of experience in networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and SSL/TLS.
  • Security Best Practices: 6 years of experience in applying security best practices within AWS environments.
  • Configuration Management & Orchestration: 8 years of experience ensuring cloud environments meet operational and security standards through configuration management and orchestration tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).
  • Experience in Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience working on large-scale projects in the public sector.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
