Position Overview:

The Department of Management - Division of IT is on the lookout for a skilled DevOps Engineer to enhance our dynamic software team dedicated to critical applications utilizing Agile methodologies. The primary goal of this project is to modernize the UI Tax system by re-engineering its components to align with top-tier architecture and frameworks, thereby improving service delivery to both agency personnel and end-users while preparing the agency for future technological advancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical implementation and operationalization of AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Serve as a developer advocate for Cloud capabilities, collaborating across various teams to design and implement user-friendly hybrid cloud environments.
  • Design, construct, and sustain efficient, reusable, and reliable AWS infrastructure utilizing AWS CDK.
  • Oversee and configure AWS services including EC2, EKS, ECR, Cognito, Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, among others.
  • Design, construct, and maintain service mesh solutions like Istio within EKS clusters.
  • Develop unit and integration tests to ensure comprehensive IaC test coverage.
  • Establish and manage CI/CD pipelines for the automated deployment of infrastructure and applications.
  • Gather telemetry data and create dashboards, alerts, and notifications for precise insights into cloud operations and application performance.
  • Monitor and resolve performance issues, ensuring high availability and optimal functioning of infrastructure and services.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to enhance application performance and reliability within AWS environments.
  • Implement and uphold security best practices and compliance measures in AWS.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, etc.
  • Experience in AWS CDK development.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Dynatrace, etc.
  • Capability to create quick Proofs of Concept (POCs) to showcase cloud capabilities and design user-friendly hybrid cloud environments.
