Position Overview

Monad Labs is at the forefront of developing Monad, a high-performance and parallel EVM Layer-1 blockchain. Our team comprises systems engineers and community advocates dedicated to revolutionizing the crypto landscape. Following a successful funding round, we are expanding our workforce.

Role Summary

We specialize in creating highly efficient software systems (such as databases, virtual machines, and BFT consensus mechanisms) from the ground up using C++.

We are in search of a Lead Software Architect who thrives on designing and executing such systems.

Your contributions will significantly influence both the architectural direction and the overall performance of the team.

You will report directly to the CTO and play a key role in shaping the architecture and guiding the project.

While we are pioneering a new blockchain, prior experience in the cryptocurrency sector is not a prerequisite.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect and implement enhancements to blockchain components, including the virtual machine, database, and consensus mechanism.
  • Conduct research on innovative improvements.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the entire system, including ongoing projects.
  • Actively review pull requests and provide technical guidance to team members.
Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
  • A proven history of delivering products successfully.
  • Experience with complex software projects requiring substantial production-ready code.
  • A hands-on approach to architecture and coding, with the ability to produce clear and concise code.
  • Extensive experience in C and C++. Familiarity with Rust is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

Minimum full-time salary of $300,000. (This is not a guarantee of compensation; final offer amounts may vary based on experience, expertise, and location.)
