Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. is seeking a Junior Control Systems Engineer (INTERNSHIP) - Hybrid Schedule.

ROLE OVERVIEW:
  • Eligibility: Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Academic Requirement: Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.9.
  • Work Commitment: Availability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during academic sessions, with the potential to increase to 28 hours weekly if suitable. During breaks, hours may extend up to 40 hours per week as necessary.
  • Internship Duration: A minimum commitment of 1 year is required, with the possibility of extension based on mutual fit.
  • Start Date: Immediate availability is preferred.

The Junior Control Systems Engineer will play a crucial role in assisting with the design, configuration, and testing of control systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in monitoring project engineering schedules, tracking deliverables, and managing action items.
  • Support engineering activities related to HMI computer systems, control system configuration, and testing.
  • Analyze problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
  • Prepare reports and procedural documentation, effectively presenting information and addressing inquiries from team members.
  • Manage multiple tasks and facilitate communication across various disciplines.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
  • Education: Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution. Preference for sophomore or junior students.
  • Language Proficiency: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, technical documents, and regulations. Proficient in writing reports and business correspondence.
  • Mathematical Proficiency: Competence in mathematical concepts such as probability, statistics, and geometry.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with spreadsheet and word processing software, email, graphics, technical diagrams, and programming languages.
INTERESTS
  • Desire to learn about engineering project planning, design, configuration, and testing of industrial control systems.
  • Interest in control systems and control panel design, including equipment selection and schematic preparation.
