Job Title: Recovery Coach

North Suffolk Community Services Inc. is seeking a Recovery Coach to join our Recovery on the Harbor Team.

Job Summary

The Recovery Coach is a key member of our team, providing expertise and support to individuals in recovery from substance use and other addictions. This is a part-time position, requiring 20 hours per week, with some evening and weekend hours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coach individuals in recovery-oriented skills, activities of daily living, socialization, and community integration.
  • Implement, teach, and assist individuals in developing and reviewing their individual action plans or wellness plans.
  • Assist individuals in identifying and accessing sponsorship when needed.
  • Develop and enhance peer-driven educational services.
  • Participate in the upkeep and maintenance of program services.
  • Work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of individuals served and program requirements.
  • Document client progress and maintain a permanent record of client activity.
  • Co-facilitate groups with professional staff to provide support for increased stability in individuals' lives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a field other than behavioral health sciences or high school degree/GED required, with work experience with adults diagnosed with substance use and/or dependency.
  • Knowledge and experience of the addiction treatment service system, recovery coaching, and other related human services.
  • Certified Addictions Recovery Coach (CARC) certification preferred.
  • Bilingual - Spanish strongly preferred.
