Job Summary

1910 Genetics is seeking a highly skilled Director of IT to lead our technology team and drive the company's IT strategy. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining our IT best practices, planning, executing, and managing IT projects to support our goals, and overseeing IT onboarding and offboarding tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain IT best practices
  • Plan, execute, and manage IT projects
  • Oversee IT onboarding and offboarding tasks
  • Manage relationships with external vendors
  • Lead and optimize IT infrastructure
  • Implement and maintain security protocols
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans
  • Identify and implement new technologies to enhance operational efficiency and support innovation
  • Plan and manage the installation of new organization-wide systems and applications

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience as a strategic IT leader, with at least 3 years in a VC-backed tech or techbio AI native startup
  • 10 years of expertise in networking, systems administration, and cloud computing (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • 10 years of experience with implementing and managing IT support tools and ticketing systems
  • 10 years of extensive technical knowledge of Windows network/server architectures, Active Directory, M365, G-Suite, and Teams/SharePoint; knowledge of Linux a plus
  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Cloud/Server technologies, M365, internal and voice networks
  • Experience with workforce management systems, ideally Rippling
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and improve operational efficiency
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to balance multiple projects at once and maintain documentation and reporting

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working for a biotechnology or healthcare company
  • Experience with lab systems and associated IT requirements, preferably in biotechnology or pharmaceutical research
  • Experience working for a small to mid-size startup organization
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
