Job Summary

North Suffolk Community Services Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our residential program, you will provide direct care to individuals living in a residential setting, helping them develop daily living skills, transportation, skill-building, money management, medication administration, and risk mitigation based on their individualized treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage individuals in their recovery journey, helping them achieve symptom stabilization and self-management.
  • Assist clients in identifying personal priorities, preferences, strengths, and interests to establish goals that support a life in recovery.
  • Arrange and transport residents to appointments or daily outings.
  • Complete administrative tasks, such as answering phones or filling out paperwork.
  • Assist with household tasks, such as cooking and cleaning.
  • Provide side-by-side support and coaching to help individuals socialize and become more involved in their community.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree highly preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorder.
  • Valid driver's license required; MAP certification within five months of hire and CPR/First Aid certification within the orientation period.
  • ASL fluency a plus.
