Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Inspector III-IV to join our team at Kratos Defense & Security Solutions. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will be responsible for performing inspections at various stages of assembly and manufacturing, ensuring that complex machined and molded parts conform to specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inspections using common gages and measurement instruments, as well as AQL sampling and procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate inspection documentation, including written descriptions of inspection results and Discrepant Material Reports (DMR).
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure quality and compliance with established safety directives.
  • Develop and implement improvements to inspection processes and procedures.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to achieve quality objectives.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 10+ years of related experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a mechanical or senior process inspector, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems, including KUAS Quality Management System requirements.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments and work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to learn and apply new skills, including PC-DMIS programming and 3D modeling.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Aerospace industry experience preferred.
  • AA degree or some college credits preferred.
  • Security Clearance preferred.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in an office and/or manufacturing environment, with the possibility of extended hours or weekends as business needs dictate. The position may also involve exposure to noise and hazardous chemicals.

Travel Requirements

0-5% travel required between KUAS locations.
