Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Inspector III-IV to join our team at Kratos Defense & Security Solutions. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will be responsible for performing inspections at various stages of assembly and manufacturing, ensuring that complex machined and molded parts conform to specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare inspection documentation, including written descriptions of inspection results and deviations from engineering specifications.
  • Generate Discrepant Material Reports (DMRs) and verify remediation actions.
  • Perform quality transactions in various systems, including ERP and DMR Log.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Maintain a clean work area and adhere to 5S Standards.
  • Comply with established safety directives and quality management system requirements.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 4 years of related experience as a mechanical or senior process inspector.
  • Formal QA/QC training or certification may be considered in lieu of experience.
  • Ability to accurately use common inspection instruments and understand KUAS quality processes and procedures.
  • Basic math skills and working knowledge of MS Office software.
  • Ability to learn ERP system and input accurate transactions.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Aerospace industry experience.
  • Good working knowledge of 3D modeling.
  • Security clearance preferred.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in an office and/or manufacturing environment, with the possibility of extended hours or weekends as business needs dictate. The role may involve exposure to noise and hazardous chemicals, as well as standing on a hard surface, walking, and some lifting (not over 50 lbs).

Travel Requirements

0-5% travel may be required between KUAS locations.
