Position Title: Perishable Fulfillment Lead

Department: Distribution Center

Reports to: Distribution Center Manager

Status: Full-time, Hourly, Non-exempt

Job Level: Entry/Lead

Position Summary

Foodlink manages over 20 million pounds of food annually. The Perishable Fulfillment Lead (PFL) is tasked with supervising the effective replenishment of perishable and frozen inventory within the Distribution Center, ensuring precise inventory movements from bulk storage to picking locations. The PFL guarantees that all products are allocated to the correct bin locations and completes all necessary computer and inventory documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise warehouse replenishment for frozen and chilled areas, ensuring optimal product quantities are maintained for efficient picking.
  • Collaborate with the Fulfillment Lead to process daily Movement Worksheets and generate order pick tickets for the Distribution Center team.
  • Act as a lead for perishable order pickers in frozen and chilled zones, assisting with order and inventory challenges and ensuring the completion of daily inventory picks.
  • Work alongside the receiving team to accurately receive frozen and perishable donated, USDA, and purchased products into bulk bins according to weight tiers.
  • Ensure proper inventory maintenance functions for frozen and chilled areas, including warehouse transfers, pallet movements, disposal of expired and damaged products, and pallet labeling.
  • Assist with order picking as necessary.
  • Facilitate the sorting process for all retail frozen and chilled products.
  • Coordinate with Operations Management to manage product preparation for all Pop Up Pantry Distributions (PUPS), ensuring accurate paperwork is recorded and submitted in accordance with inventory procedures.
  • Monitor and complete temperature logs for frozen and chilled areas in compliance with AIB and other regulatory standards.
  • Report any issues related to warehouse equipment or supply shortages to management.
  • Ensure that all opening and closing checklists related to cleanliness, safety, and sanitation are completed daily.
  • Assist Operations Management with weekly inventory cycle counts.
  • Support Operations Management with all month-end, quarterly, or year-end physical counts.
  • Collaborate with Operations Management and Facilities teams to ensure Distribution Center operations meet all AIB standards.
  • Represent Foodlink professionally when interacting with customers, donors, volunteers, and constituent providers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3-5 years of experience in forklift operation and warehousing.
  • Knowledge of warehousing safety and sanitation standards.
  • Strong punctuality and attendance record.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Capable of standing and walking for extended periods in cold storage conditions.
  • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and on a flexible schedule.
  • Able to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 60 pounds regularly.
  • Friendly, customer-focused demeanor.
  • Professional attitude and appearance at all times.
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Spanish is beneficial.

Salary and Benefits

This is a full-time, hourly position starting at $17.34/hour, depending on experience. Foodlink provides 100% coverage for individual health and dental insurance, with options for family coverage available through pre-tax dollars. Additionally, we offer generous paid time off (PTO) and observe 14 paid holidays throughout the year. Employees are eligible to contribute to a 401k retirement savings plan upon hire, with a generous employer match after one year of service.
