OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of students facing emotional and behavioral challenges.
  • Exhibit proficiency in adapting content to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities, including those with learning and attention difficulties.
  • Facilitate academic achievement through targeted, rigorous, and differentiated instructional strategies.
  • Monitor and assess the progress of students with disabilities in both academic and social-emotional domains.
  • Create and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to various learning styles and needs.
  • Gather data for Functional Behavioral Assessments and formulate Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) based on findings.
  • Apply evidence-based literacy techniques across all subject areas.
  • Manage and de-escalate situations involving students exhibiting aggressive behaviors.
  • Develop both formal and informal assessments to evaluate student learning outcomes.
  • Utilize data-driven instruction by analyzing assessment results and adjusting teaching methods accordingly.
  • Provide tailored support for students facing challenges through co-teaching, one-on-one, and small group instruction.
  • Demonstrate adaptability, creativity, and resilience in addressing complex learning and behavioral situations.
  • Adhere to all relevant Special Education laws and regulations.
  • Offer continuous support to families of students with disabilities, ensuring they are informed about their rights and the educational process.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is mandatory; a Master's degree in Special Education or Reading Intervention is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with colleagues, students, and families.
  • Competitive pay rate ranging from $30.00 to $32.00 per hour.
