Job Summary

Calmra Inc is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full Time Weekend Direct Support Professional to join our team. As a Direct Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing 24-hour assistance to adults with cognitive disabilities in Prince George's and Montgomery County, Maryland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the completion of assessments and implement all plans as written.
  • Implement behavior change programs and meet with behavior management consultants as directed.
  • Complete all required data on time and accurately, including incident reports.
  • Oversee and document resident finances, maintain cleanliness and attractiveness of the home, and arrange for repairs on a timely basis.
  • Supervise repair personnel on site and ensure all household/resident bills are paid on time.
  • Arrange for all staff coverage as needed and participate in screening and evaluations.
  • Ensure accurate administration of medication and other treatments, and encourage and instruct residents in good hygiene and personal practices.
  • Conduct and ensure proper lifting and transfers of residents, and provide opportunities for residents to participate in leisure activities.
  • Develop an interactive and positive relationship with the individuals you are working with, and provide ongoing relationships with the individual's family members.
Requirements
  • AA Degree or 60 semester hours in a related field of study, or 15 semester hours and one year's related professional experience, or high school degree with 3 years experience.
  • Friendly, organized, good verbal and written communication ability, and a positive attitude.
  • Driver's license and good driving record, and car/ability to drive car/van is a must.
Work Schedule

Every Wednesday 3 PM – 11 PM and every other weekend –OR- every weekend Friday 7 AM through Monday 11 PM (includes sleep overnights). NO financial compensation is provided for sleep time.
