Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team at Jubilee Association of Maryland. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live in and enrich their community while achieving their personal, family, social, and spiritual goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct Support: Provide in-person daily support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities according to their person-centered plans.
  • Community Engagement: Encourage participation in community and family activities, Jubilee-sponsored activities, and activities connected with the person's faith community.
  • Training and Professional Development: Complete and maintain all required training and certifications, including first aid and CPR, Mandt, Certified Medication Technician (CMT), and training specific to each person you support.
  • Service Plans: Skillfully follow each person's service authorization, person-centered plan, behavior support plan, and nursing care plan.
  • Documentation: Document services, medication administration, progress on goals, medical visits, incidents, and behavior according to Jubilee's policies.
  • Communication: Maintain regular, open, and positive communication with your supervisor, colleagues, and family members of the people you support.
  • Organizational Participation: Regularly attend team meetings, all-staff meetings, and other meetings relevant to your work.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma: Required
  • Bilingual, Fluent in Written and Spoken Spanish and English: Required
  • Experience as a Direct Support Professional: A plus, but not required
  • Commitment to Jubilee's Core Values: Respect and human dignity, self-determination, community, justice, ethical practices, and spiritual care
  • Computer Skills: Using email and online data systems
  • Current U.S. Driver's License: Required
