Job Summary

MHI Ship Repair & Services is a leading marine repair and conversion contractor serving the U.S. Navy, Military Sealift Command, Maritime Administration, and commercial ship owners and operators worldwide.

We are seeking a highly skilled NDT Level III Examiner to oversee our non-destructive testing program, ensuring the highest quality and safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain non-destructive testing techniques and procedures
  • Interpret codes and technical references to ensure compliance
  • Provide training and certification for NDT inspectors
  • Administer and maintain the certification program
  • Revises and updates procedures to applicable standards
  • Supervise NDT personnel in the QA department
Requirements
  • Meet or exceed MHI's written practice for non-destructive testing
  • Qualify to perform NDT inspections according to MHI's internal procedures
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and two years related technical experience
  • ASNT Certification preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of shipboard structures and systems required
  • Minimum of one year NDT experience in the ship repair industry
  • Proficient in blueprint reading/interpretation and QA systems
  • Knowledge of welding processes and documented ultrasonic experience a plus
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
