Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and facilitate multifunctional project teams to achieve project goals and stimulate team growth
  • Develop and implement effective ideas for new products, product improvements, and cost reductions to meet customer needs
  • Conduct engineering analysis, including strength calculations, design layout, fits, and tolerances, and solid modeling
  • Conduct design reviews, drawing reviews, DFMEA's, DFM, and design validation as part of new product development
  • Conduct accelerated product life cycle tests, evaluate field testing, and potential misuse of products to ensure a long and safe service life for end-users
  • Develop and maintain complete and well-documented product specifications, working closely with engineering services, manufacturing engineers, marketing managers, unit managers, industrial engineers, planners, and quality control
  • Support the development of new manufacturing processes and provide technical writing support and editing of service manuals, assembly, and operating instructions
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Agricultural Engineering
  • Five (5) years of progressive product engineering experience
  • Proficiency with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software, including solid modeling
  • Knowledge of basic materials and processes used in industry, with an emphasis on new technology developments
Preferred Qualifications
  • SolidWorks experience
  • Proficiency with finite element analysis (FEA) software and stress calculations
  • Ability to conceptualize, formulate design possibilities, and coordinate development by the project team under time and financial constraints
  • Commitment to effective project leadership, coordination, and evaluation, with recommendations for changes required to improve overall results
  • Music or theater background or interest
