Manufacturing Operations Director

Job SummaryThe Manufacturing Plant Manager is accountable for plant production operations in a rapidly growing assembly/manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and accomplish all plant objectives in the areas of safety, quality, production, people development, and customer service.
- Improve the metrics of the operation through visual, hands-on applications and development of the immediate supervisory staff and lead personnel.
- Plan, direct, and lead plant production with an intense focus on safety and quality while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and internal company policies.
- Direct, manage, and develop plant staff to ensure efficient and safe operations of the plant.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and meetings; ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment; monitor plant operating budget; analyze labor costs and material usage; develop labor models to forecast needs and balance production.
- Recommend purchase of all capital equipment and supplies to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Foster and maintain a high level of customer service through on-time production, responsiveness to customer needs, and ensuring that the quality of the shipped product meets all customer quality requirements.
- Employ lean methodologies and tools to accomplish business objectives and improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Become the company 'go-to' resource with respect to all assemblies manufactured in the plant, extremely familiar with the manufacturing plans and process from design to completion.
- Support the Director of Manufacturing in the leadership of production and assist with growth planning.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferred), business administration, or manufacturing management.
- Minimum eight years overall manufacturing experience and five years of experience in a leadership role.
- Proven ability to independently manage plant operations.
- Track record of building a high-performing team to succeed in a demanding, fast-moving, and growth-oriented atmosphere.
- Proven project management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated experience leading continuous improvement and change management activities.
- Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills with a proven record of building relationships and collaborating across multiple operations and corporate support functions.
- Experience with ERP (Epicor) software is a bonus.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
