Job Title: Medical Director, Sickle Cell Center
Location: New Orleans, LA
Job Summary:
- Lead the Sickle Cell Center of Southern Louisiana at Tulane University, a renowned institution dedicated to excellence in education, clinical care, and research.
- Engage in teaching medical students, residents, and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology fellows, fostering a culture of academic excellence and innovation.
- Collaborate with LSU colleagues to enhance the existing program at Tulane, driving strategic partnerships and growth.
- Participate in outpatient and inpatient care at Children's Hospital New Orleans, delivering exceptional patient care and outcomes.
- Contribute to research, opening new trials and developing investigator-initiated trials, advancing the field of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
- Mentor fellows and work with public health and Global Health programs, promoting global health equity and access to quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the Sickle Cell Center's mission and goals.
- Recruit and manage a team of healthcare professionals, ensuring excellent patient care and outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement evidence-based practices.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, applying knowledge to improve patient care and outcomes.
Requirements:
- MD or DO degree with board certification in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
- Experience in leading a healthcare team and developing strategic plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong research and academic background, with a track record of publishing and presenting research.
